Mivumo River Lodge

Situated high on the banks of the Selous' Rufiji River, Mivumo River Lodge is just 45 minutes' drive away from the nearby Stiegler's airstrip, and in view of the mighty Stiegler's Gorge.

The lodge offers just twelve luxurious air-conditioned rooms, each located in a timbered chalet, with private viewing deck and plunge pool. Crystal chandeliers and antique furnishings complete a picture of Edwardian comfort and indeed opulence.

The central dining area benefits from spectacular views, and is complemented by a separate lounge and library. A gift shop and business centre complete the picture. Apart that is from a spa, well-being centre and infinity pool.

In addition to the usual game drives (including night drives, at extra cost) it is possible to take a boating safari down the Rufiji River, in addition to taking guided walks and enjoying bush breakfasts and dinners.

Mivumo is probably the most luxurious lodge in the Selous.
