Sited on a rocky kopje overlooking Mkata floodplains this is a seasonal camp which is closed from March to June each year. This small personalised camp looks out over the best game viewing area in Mikumi National Park – the Mwanamboga waterhole.
There are 8 tents raised on wooden platforms. All have ensuite, shower, toilet, basin and hot water. There are twin beds each with a mosquito net. Each tent has its own private veranda from which to view the game on the plains below.
The dining room is cool and welcoming and offers full English or continental breakfast, a cold buffet for lunch and a 3-course dinner with vegetarian option.
Available here are game drives in open 4 wheel drive vehicles led by English speaking guides. The best game viewing is in the dry season from June to February.
Recently completely rebuilt, Stanley's Kopje offers the best in current design and construction.
