Ruaha River Lodge is a large camp spread along the bank of the River Ruaha in the heart of Ruaha National Park. Wildlife abounds here as it comes down to drink at the river, and elephants are a regular feature around the camp.
Each of the lodge’s 28 large and comfortable bandas built from natural materials, has a double and single bed, a separate sitting area and spacious en-suite facilities including a walk-in shower. Each banda has a private veranda overlooking the river where you can watch the many and varied animals and birds which come down to drink at the waters’ edge.
There are two bar/lounge/dining areas at opposite ends of the camp, so that this camp manages to maintain an intimate atmosphere even when the camp is full. Food is prepared from fresh produce from the lodge’s own Highland farm and freshly baked cinnamon bread is a feature of breakfast each morning. Meals are mainly buffet style and offer a tasty and wholesome choice of dishes. [cont.]
Activities at Ruaha River Lodge focus mainly on game drives in 4x4 safari vehicles. There are half day game drives in the morning and afternoon, as well as all day game drives allowing you to explore deep into the Ruaha National Park.
