Ras Kutani is located 35km south of Dar es Salaam. Set on a crescent of deserted white sandy beach lapped by the warm blue waters of the Indian Ocean, this is a paradise of peace and tranquility. The lodge is flanked by a freshwater lagoon and coastal forest. At certain times of the year, turtles still come to nest along the shore of Ras Kutani.
There are 9 spacious and charming cottages constructed of natural materials to blend in with the beautiful surroundings. Each cottage has en suite facilities, ethnic furnishings and a large veranda with sea views. There are also 4 suites and a family unit.
Fresh seafood is a specialty at Ras Kutani together with Pan African cuisine. The central guest area has a high thatched roof to make the most of the cooling sea breezes, and offers superb views of the beach, lagoon and ocean. There is also a massage and wellness centre.
Activities include snorkelling, kayaking and body boarding, cultural visits to local villages and forest walks.
